A little bit about me

I’m a freelance writer and independent arts professional. My writing has appeared in American Art Collector, Homestead, The Oregonian, Planet Jackson Hole, Jackson Hole News&Guide, and other publications.

I grew up in Jackson, Wyoming, and graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, in 1991 with a B.A. in English. I spent several years in New York City, writing poetry, working in the arts and publishing, and participating in queer and feminist activism. I am the editor of two anthologies: Surface Tension: Love, Sex, and Politics Between Lesbians and Straight Women, 1995; and Letters of Intent: Women Cross the Generations to Talk About Family, Work, Sex, Love and the Future of Feminism, co-edited with Anna Bondoc, 1999.

I’m proud to have worked at arts organizations such as The Kitchen (NYC), Literary Arts (Portland), Frameline Film Festival (San Francisco), National Museum of Wildlife Art (Jackson), and others. A few of my favorite independent projects include the art discussion series Culture Front, an emerging artist funding project called stARTers, and founding a contemporary art gallery, Daly Projects.

Other passions and investigations include yoga, poetry, art history, mental health, friendship, and social and environmental justice. I’m passionate about nuance, context, and creating space for dialogue and understanding.

I’m currently based in Bend, Oregon, where I enjoy adventuring with my sweetheart, Mark.
